24 - 03 Steamboat Bill Jr

Sunday 17th March at 2:30pm - Steamboat Bill Jr. (1928)

An afternoon of silent comedies starring Buster Keaton - the main feature  'Steamboat Bill Jr.' (1928) and the 1920 comedy short - 'One Week'. Both films will be accompanied on the Paramount Compton cinema organ by Donald MacKenzie - star organist at the Odeon Leicester Square, in London's West End.

Enjoy an afternoon of Big Band and Swing classics at this one-off show, featuring the celebrated Take 2 Big Band, together with Scarborough Spa’s ‘King of the Keyboards’ - Howard Beaumont at the console of the Paramount Compton organ. Star vocalist - Craig Williams joins us to feature some of the great songs recorded by Michael Bublé. An unforgettable afternoon of toe-tapping Big Band favourites not to be missed.

Blackpool Tower’s star organist - Phil Kelsall MBE makes a welcome return to the Compton organ at the Penistone Paramount. Having performed at the iconic Tower Ballroom, Blackpool for over 45 years, Phil knows how to wow an audience with great music and superb showmanship. For over 40 years, Phil has starred in the magnificent Thursford Christmas Spectacular, entertaining audiences with his musical dexterity.

A 'Last Night of the Proms' style show featuring Kevin Grunill at the Compton organ and Thurlstone Brass Band. Enjoy an afternoon of patriotic flag-waving favourites such as 'Jerusalem', 'The Sailor's Hornpipe', & 'Land of Hope and Glory'. A celebration of the music of Great British composers past and present.

24 - 10 Nosferatu

Sunday 13th October at 2:30pm - Nosferatu (1922)

The screen's first, albeit unauthorised, adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula features Max Schreck's unforgettable performance as the vampire Count Orlok, the most chilling portrayal of cadaverous evil in film history. This presentation will be accompanied live on the Paramount Compton Cinema organ by celebrated organist Donald MacKenzie from the Odeon, Leicester Square.

Saturday 9th November at 2:30pm - Robert Wolfe

Resident Organist at the Thursford Collection in Norfolk, Robert Wolfe returns to the Penistone Paramount to perform an entertaining afternoon of toe-tapping music with great showmanship.

Enjoy an afternoon of music and mirth as we pull our 'Compton Christmas Cracker' of festive cheer. Featuring firm favourite Andrew Nix at the Compton organ and the Chorus UK choir performing seasonal favourites everyone loves to hear. So 'Deck the Halls' as 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' and spread a little musical 'Joy to the World'.
