25th Anniversary Show with Simon Gledhill & Richard Hills
Celebrate with us as we mark the 25th Anniversary of the opening of the mighty Compton organ here at the Penistone Paramount. This special event, which features Yorkshire’s only cinema pipe organ in an actual cinema, showcases two of the UK’s finest exponents of the instrument.
Award-winning international star organists - Simon Gledhill and Richard Hills join forces to present a special one-off concert to mark this very special anniversary in style. There’ll be music from stage & screen, as well as several duets, specifically arranged to mark the occasion and maybe one or two surprises along the way too.

with Phil Kelsall MBE, Andy Eastwood & Maggie O'Hara
Join us for a nostalgic afternoon of musical variety from the 1940s to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Andy Eastwood pays tribute to the great George Formby. Memories of Vera Lynn & Gracie Fields with star vocalist Maggie O’ Hara and Blackpool Tower’s ‘Maestro of Music’ - Phil Kelsall MBE at the Compton organ featuring a salute to wartime organist Reginald Dixon.
So ‘Pack up your troubles’ and ‘Sing as we go’, when we ‘Roll out the barrel’ at this VE Day 80th Anniversary show so that ‘We’ll meet again”.

Sunday 11th May at 3pm - Charlie Chaplin in 'The Gold Rush'
Accompanied on the Compton organ by Donald MacKenzie
The Gold Rush, American silent film comedy, released in 1925, that starred Charlie Chaplin and was set amid the Alaskan gold rush of the late 1890s. The tale follows the adventures of Chaplin’s legendary Tramp character as he prospects for gold, fighting off wild animals and greedy competitors.
The Gold Rush was critically acclaimed upon its release, and continues to be one of Chaplin's most celebrated works; Chaplin himself cited it several times as the film for which he most wanted to be remembered.

Saturday 11th October at 2:30pm - A Stateside Celebration with Mark Herman
As part of the 25th Anniversary of the mighty Compton organ being installed here at the Penistone Paramount, we present international star organist - Mark Herman, direct from the USA. Mark is one of America's most prolific theatre organists, having been featured on numerous award-winning film soundtracks. Don't miss Mark's only U.K. concert appearance and the unique opportunity to experience the Paramount Compton in the hands of one of the world's finest theatre organists.

Saturday 8th November at 2:30pm - Swing Swing Swing
with Kevin Grunill & The Take 2 Big Band
Enjoy an afternoon of Big Band and Swing classics at this one-off show, featuring the celebrated Take 2 Big Band, together with Barnsley's very own Kevin Grunill at the console of the Paramount Compton organ. Star vocalist - Craig Williams joins us to feature some of the great songs recorded by Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra & many more. An unforgettable afternoon of toe-tapping Big Band favourites not to be missed.
